The Senior Sunday School is open to children from Primary 4 upwards.
OUTING to the Compass Centre 22nd May 2011 This year we were joined on our outing to the Compass Christian Centre, Glenshee by 12 children from Meigle Sunday School. The children all had a most enjoyable day and here are some of their thoughts.
“We went to Compass Christian Centre on a Sunday morning. We missed swimming lessons because we left early but it was great fun in the car on the way and we had some sweets. When we got there we were told by Rachael to climb over the rope course. This was fun, and I was teamed up with Raighan. We helped each other over the course, it was quite hard, and we had lots of fun. After the rope course we went on the zip line, this was very scary, I thought I would have screamed but I held on tight, it was brilliant. We had our lunch and after this we made our way back home, I hope we can go back sometime soon. On the way home, we had an apple in the car. “
“I enjoyed the zip wire best because it was really fun I got to spend time with my friends. At first I thought it would be very scary but I got to put on a harness so I couldn't fall. It was really fast and I realised it wasn't scary, it was cool and fun. I really hope that I can go on it again one day.”
“ Well the zip line was very fun and scary at the same time but it was good. I had to wait for ages till I got on it because there were lots of people wanting to get on it. So when I was waiting Mrs Cooper, Morgan and I played football. When it was my go I had to run up a hill to get to the place. When I got there, I was flying off and I went zoom and that was my day at the zip line!!!!!!”
“The compass centre was a lot of fun. Cameron, & I went in Mrs Mitchell's car and when we go there I went over the rope course with Cameron, The weather was good, and it did not rain. The best thing was the zip line, this was very high, and it was great fun to do. After we had our dinner we left to come back home, we had fun with the other Sunday School children from Meigle.”
“I loved the archery. I liked loading up the bow. It was hard at first to load the bows but then it got easier. I really enjoyed shooting the arrows. We had to play games, my favourite was cake. On the target the red was jam, the yellow was eggs, blue was milk and the white was flour. In the game if you we able to hit the red, yellow, blue and white you had made a cake. It wasn’t good if you hit black though because that meant the cake was burnt. Matthew and I got all the ingredients. We had to wear an arm guard to protect our arms. I’d like to do it again.”

SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER 2011
We started this term learning about Moses, who as a baby was found floating in a basket on the River Nile by an Egyptian Princess.
We learned about his privileged upbringing in the Palace and what caused his flight from Egypt to Midian where he settled with Jethro’s family, looked after his sheep and married Jethro’s his daughter. One day while tending the sheep God asked Moses to go back to Egypt and lead all the Israelites to their freedom.
We will learn with God’s help how he eventually succeeds and what happens to them as they travel onwards to the Promised Land.

During the year we have COMPETITIONS QUIZZES * GAMES * OUTINGS and occasionally take part in the service.
nKomazi Orphaned Family Sponsorship
After the amazing impact the African Children’s Choir had on us all in June 2005, we have decided that in a small way we can help the desperate situation in their homeland. There are over 2,700 children who have lost one or both parents to Aids and fight a daily battle against starvation.
We are delighted to be sponsoring the family of Eric, one of the members of the choir. Our weekly collection is going towards this, and is supplemented by generous donations from members of the congregation and fund raising events. We are extremely grateful to everyone for their support of this project.
