Sovereign God...
Sovereign God,
it is easy to trust you when life is good,
but when circumstances change,
then faith is suddenly put to the test.
When one problem, one anxiety, one sorrow follows another,
we feel overwhelmed,
swimming against a current,
that sweeps us deeper and deeper into difficulty.
Teach us that however fierce the storm,
it can never finally swamp us,
for you will be there to rescue us in our time of need.
Teach us to hold firmly to you
knowing that you will keep hold of us,
until the storm is past and calm returns.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
